First, the oil seal is installed in the housing hole
The oil package is especially important for the surface roughness and surface quality of the housing bore. During assembly, check the inner wall for debris, scratches, dust, and foundry sand. Use special tooling to smoothly push the skeleton oil seal into the seat hole of the housing.
Second, the oil seal on the shaft The inner diameter of the oil seal is usually smaller than the shaft diameter, forming a certain amount of interference, which is easy to cause lip damage when assembling the oil seal. To prevent damage to the oil seal lip, it is generally necessary to use a conical shoulder or a conical tool for assembly. When there are threads, grooves and splines on the shaft, the use of the conical shoulder assembly is invalid, and a special assembly tool is needed to protect the lip of the oil seal, that is, a protective sleeve is placed at the thread, the groove and the spline to avoid The oil seal lip is damaged by sharp corners, threads, grooves and splines on the shaft.
Third, the installation procedure of the skeleton oil seal and the precautions during assembly:
1. From the oil seal to the assembly, it must be kept clean. Do not tear the wrapper too early before installation to prevent debris from adhering to the surface of the oil seal and bring it into work.
2. Perform the machining inspection procedure before assembly. Whether the size of each part of the oil seal matches the size of the shaft and the cavity. The end faces of the shaft and the cavity should be smooth, the chamfers are free from damage and burrs, and the assembly parts must be cleaned. The shaft and the seat hole should be machined with a 15° to 30 degree assembly chamfer, especially the inner to the corner. There is no slope. It is recommended to use a rounded chamfer for the assembly. There should be no burrs, sand, iron filings and other debris in the part of the shaft to prevent accidental damage to the oil seal lip. The size of the cavity should be suitable for the outer diameter and width of the oil seal.
3. Check whether the lip of the oil seal is damaged or deformed, whether the spring is detached or rusted, and the oil seal is prevented from being damaged by external force squeeze and impact during transportation.
4. If the oil seal has an oil return line, it is necessary to first determine the relationship between the installation direction of the oil seal and the rotation.
5. When assembling, apply a proper amount of cleaning grease such as lithium grease containing molybdenum disulfide between the oil seal lips to prevent dry friction on the lip when the shaft is started instantaneously, which will affect the interference of the lip. the amount. The surface of the lip seal portion of the oil seal should not be organically machined with thread marks. Apply sealant to the outer ring of the oil seal during assembly, wrap the keyway or step on the shaft with hard paper to avoid scratching or flipping the lip seal, or use a special tool such as over-guide to rotate the oil seal inward. . Do not harden hard to prevent the oil seal skeleton from deforming and then break the spring and fail. If the lip is turned over, the spring is detached and the oil seal is skewed, it must be removed and reloaded.
6, the correct use of special installation tools to protect the lip from damage. Even slight scratches are not allowed, otherwise it will easily cause oil seal leakage. It is recommended to install with hydraulic equipment or sleeve tool. The pressure is not too big, the speed should be even and slow.
7. When the oil is packaged into the housing, it should be carried out with a uniform pressure. When pressing in, the oil seal cannot be pressed into the inner hole obliquely, otherwise it will cause deformation of the outer seal of the oil seal.
8. The assembly direction must be paid attention to when installing. When the inner seal is required, the side (the grooved side) with the self-tightening spring faces the inside of the box and the dust lip faces outward.
